Stamped concrete

The work most people call us for. A normal slab that gets coloured, released and pressed with texture mats before it sets, so it cures with the look of ashlar, slate or cut stone.

Why stamped

It is the same slab. It just doesn't look like one.

Stamped concrete is poured exactly like a normal slab and then, in the hour before it sets, it gets coloured and pressed with a texture mat. You end up with the look of flagstone, slate or cut stone in a single continuous pour.

    Colour goes in

    Either mixed through the whole load or cast across the surface. That is the base tone you see between the stones.

  2. 02

    Release goes on

    A second, contrasting powder. It keeps the mats from sticking and it settles into the low spots, which is what gives stone its depth instead of a flat painted look.

  3. 03

    Mats go down

    Heavy rubber stamps pressed into the surface while the concrete is still green. There is one window to get this right and it does not come back.

  4. 04

    Wash and seal

    The loose release is washed off to reveal the colour. At A.D.C Concrete, we wait at least five days after the pour before applying sealer, allowing the concrete time to dry.
